I am a board certified psychiatrist trained in both medication management and psychotherapy who provides personalized, trauma-informed treatment for a variety of conditions. Areas of focus include depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, personality, stress and trauma-related disorders, psychosis, focus and compulsive disorders, relationship strain, life transitions, career stresses, gender dysphoria, gender transitions and myriad other challenges.
My style is collaborative, person-centered, and warm. I feel strongly about working in partnership with patients to develop mutual goals and a plan of action, which may include medication, psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, or a combination of each. During your initial consultation, we will begin with a comprehensive psychiatric assessment, and will discuss your current concerns, past experiences and long-term goals. I will work with you not only to address mental illness, but also to nurture mental health and wellness. I draw on many modalities for psychotherapy, including but not limited to insight-oriented psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and interpersonal psychotherapy.
I received a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University and completed medical training at the State University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. I completed my residency in Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, where I was a Chief Resident, and completed an additional training program in Global Mental Health. I also completed fellowship training in Public Psychiatry at Columbia University.
Across my practice, I am devoted to practicing radical empathy and providing nonjudgmental clinical care. I offer evening hours to better accommodate busy schedules. I look forward to hearing from you!
